During the dual study program, you will take on various tasks at the Data Center (ZDV) at Johannes Gutenberg University. These include, for example, programming software, creating web pages and installing software and hardware. You will also rectify faults, search for sources of errors and optimize the IT infrastructure.

The Bachelor’s degree course lasts a total of 7 semesters (3.5 years).

The beginning of the lecture period is always October 1.

Theory:

The theory is taught at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences (HSRM) in Wiesbaden.

Practice:

The practical skills are taught in our Center for Data Processing.

You will learn the content in the form of a block model, i.e. during the lecture periods, lectures will take place four days a week at HSRM and one day a week you will work at JGU in the Data Center (ZDV). During semester breaks, you will work full-time at the ZDV.


The examinations are usually offered at the end of the relevant courses.

The examination dates are set towards the end of each semester and published on the HSRM homepage and on the notice board.

The examination period is at the end of the lecture period and extends over a maximum of 5 consecutive weeks (the last week of the lecture period, first 4 weeks of the semester break).
