During the dual study program, you will take on various tasks in the construction management presentation of the Real Estate Department or in the TGA planning services staff unit of the Technical Department at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

The construction management presentation supervises construction measures in the collection as well as new ones with a focus on object planning / building construction. The Technical Department supervises the area of technical building equipment.

As a member of the project team, you will support the planning and implementation of construction measures. You will also perform planning services according to HOAI (object planning) and tasks of the client representative with project management tasks.

    • Cost estimates

    • Service descriptions
    • Carrying out tendering procedures and obtaining offers
  • Participation in planning meetings

  • Supervisor of the adjustment process
  • Preparation of the handover to the users
  • Inventory of structural and technical facilities

As a member of the project teams, you will take on various tasks independently during the program of study. This will give you the best possible preparation for your future career.

The program of study lasts a total of 8 semesters (4 years).

The theoretical part of the study program takes place at the higher education institution in Mainz. At the same time, you will gain practical experience during your practical assignments in the Real Estate or Technical Departments at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz for at least three weekdays from the third semester onwards.

While the first two semesters cover the basics (e.g. Mathematics, Law, Materials Science, Building Construction, Business Administration), the focus in the following semesters is on the profile-building subjects of study (e.g. Technical Building Services, Infrastructure, Building Information Modeling, Fire Safety, Construction Site Management, Construction Process Engineering or Building Automation/Building Services Engineering).

The courses offered are supplemented with required elective subjects from the sixth semester and practical projects from the seventh semester. You will write your Bachelor’s thesis in the eighth semester.

The theory is taught at Mainz University of Applied Sciences.
